Première 'Kinetic'

Oranje Minnertsga (conducted by Bienze Ijlstra) will premiere the work Kinetic at their 'Royal Brass in Concert' on 14 January 2024. Check out the website of Oranje for more info about this concert. Première 'Unbreakable Ties'

Première 'Bright Future'

During the New Year's concert of the KNA Hierden wind band (led by Arno Groeneveld) on Feb. 3, 2024, the composition 'Bright Future' will be premiered. The work was offered to them by the ONFK because of their championship in 2023. Check the website of KNA Hierden for more info on this concert.

Première 'Vita Iter'


On December 8, the Reformed Brass Band Groningen (conducted by Jan Werkman) will premiere the composition 'Vita Iter'. This work was written in honor of the wedding ceremony of Frits and Zwannie Werkman and will be performed during their wedding ceremony in the "PetrusKerk" in Leens.

'Dodo van Haska'

'Dodo by Haska' was commissioned by the Golden Spiker Festival. In the upcoming edition of the Golden Spiker Festival, this work is the test-piece for the fourth division brass band. The work is now available in the webshop and through AM Music.

ONFK 2023

'Where Earth and Sky meet', written for cmv Burdine, has been chosen as the compulsory work for the Open Dutch Fanfare Championships 2023 (3rd division)! The composition was recently premiered and is now available through the webshop and AM Music.

'ANNO'

On May 12, the premiere of the composition 'ANNO' will take place. The work was written for carillon (Peperbus in Zwolle), swinging bells, concert carillon and two trumpets, on the occasion of the opening of the new museum ANNO (in Zwolle). The 'opening piece' will sound around 18:30 as the start of all kinds of activities surrounding the opening of this new museum.

New Music Now

New Music NOW is commissioning 20 composers to create a new composition and an audiovisual production of it. The Provinciale Brassband Groningen and composer Arend Gerds will engage in a collaboration in which a new work entitled 'Monolith' (working title), will be composed by Arend Gerds and premiered by the Provinciale Brassband Groningen. AE Audio Productions will make an audiovisual production of this new work, recorded at a location that will also be the subject of the composition, being the Forum in Groningen.

'Toward the unknown'

On April 10, the work 'Toward the unknown' will be premiered by the Achterhoeks Fanfare Orchestra (conducted by Gerd Wensink). The composition was written especially for this orchestra and project. The Achterhoeks Fanfare Orkest is an ambitious project orchestra with the goal of making fanfare music that touches, inspires and crosses boundaries. The program includes several premieres.

Release 'Hybrid'

On Jan. 1, 2022, a new EP called 'Hybrid' will be released on various online streaming platforms. This new EP includes recordings of the compositions 'Hybrid' and 'Ancient Sequences', played by the North Dutch Saxophone Quartet. The recording session was made possible in part by Investeringsfonds muziek.

Overkoepelen
