Arend GerdsFrom 2007 until 2013, Arend Gerds (Groningen, 4 november 1987) studied at the ArtEZ Academy of music with Alex Manassen (NL) and Montclair State University (VS) with V.J. Manzo and Ting Ho, obtaining Bachelor and Master’s degrees in composition.Gerds works as an independent composer, conductor and as a teacher: e.g. at the ArtEZ academy of Music. Recently he wrote compositions for various chamber ensembles and wind bands. Works were commissioned by the KNMO, Fonds Podiumkunsten, Ad Hoc vakantieorkest, Koperguod, ZomerOrkest Nederland (ZON 2017), Stichting Kunstpalet, CMV Concordia Oldebroek, Gereformeerde brassband Groningen (GBG), Psalm 150 Dinxperlo and others.
